My name is Daniel Müller, MD. I graduated from the University of Basel in 1997 and underwent training in Internal Medicine in Basel, Lausanne, and Boston. In 2005, I completed the executive MBA program at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in 2005. I am holding a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM) from the University of Basel in 2009.
I hold a Certificate of Online Studies (COS), which I received after completing the Data Science and Machine Learning (ML) Program at the Extension School at EPFL in Lausanne in 2018.
I have earned numerous course and specializations certificates from Coursera in data science and ML.
Since 2007, I have been the owner of Medcontrol AG, a company initially specialized in the online collection of patient-reported information for clinical trials.
Following an accident that required intensive retraining, I discovered a new focus: the application of ML in medicine.
As an ML Practitioner, my specialty lies in building models based on regression, decision trees, and artificial neural networks using different types of data.
I have a particular interest in applying ML in Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Currently, I serve as an external advisor at the intelligent Global Health Lab (iGH) at the Machine Learning and Optimization Lab (MLO) at EPFL, Lausanne.
You can find my complete profile on LinkedIn.

Medcontrol AG is based in Liestal, Switzerland. It was founded in 2002 as an internal startup within Medgate Holding AG, a Swiss telemedicine company. Medcontrol’s original field of activity was to collect patient reported data for clinical and pharmacological trials by a web platform and interactive voice recording.
In 2007 Medcontrol AG has been bought out by Daniel Müller. Before the company could be fully launched a drastic life event happening to its owner forced the company to downsize its activity for several years.
In recent years the company has resumed its activity in the application of machine learning in medicine, especially outcome research.
In 2019 Physiotherapiezuhause a physiotherapy practice became part of Medcontrol AG.
